Frequently Asked Questions
If your question isn't listed below, feel free to ask your question directly to the Change for Delran's Future Team using our contact page.
Did Gary Catrambone or Ken Paris have anything to do with the expansion of Hunters Glen?
NO - The expansion of Hunters Glen by 90 units was approved by the members of the Zoning Board appointed on December 27, 2000. Click here. Not Mayor Paris and not Councilman Gary Catrambone.
Hunters Glen asked for nearly 300 additional units and were categorically denied on the same night that the Zoning Board approved the 90 units.
For the record, 16 of the units have been denied and 74 units are currently in front of the Zoning Board for site approval.
Will my vote really make a difference?
ABSOLUTELY, in the Delran municipal elections every vote is important for several reasons.
First, due to the small number of voters that actually vote in the municipal elections they are traditionally very close races. One recent election was determined by less than five votes.
Second, large voter turn out sends a loud message to the people running for office that the citizens of Delran are not apathetic and that they do care about their community.
Third, there is no Electoral College to dilute the impact of each vote.

Can I still register to vote in the next election?
The deadline to get voter registration forms to the county is 21 days before the election. If you wish to register for a future election, send us an e-mail and we will drop a form off to you.
Can I still get an “Absentee” / “Vote By Mail” Ballot?
You no longer need an “excuse” to Vote By Mail. This is now available for anyone who would prefer, for any reason, to vote through the mail.
First let us explain the Vote By Mail (formerly called "Absentee Ballot") process:
THROUGH THE MAIL
- You must fill out and mail in a Vote By Mail application.
- You will then receive, in the mail, the actual ballot.
- You must make your selection (cast your vote) on the paper ballot.
- Follow the instructions on mailing the ballot back to the Board of Elections.
The Vote By Mail application must arrive at the County Clerk no later than 7 days before the election. (NOTE: It must be in their hands 7 days before, not postmarked 7 days before!)
The actual ballot must reach the BOARD OF ELECTIONS no later than 8:00PM on Election Day
IN PERSON OR WITH THE HELP OF AN ASSISTOR / MESSENGER (You may apply for a Vote By Mail application in person up to 3:00PM on the day before the election.)
- You must fill a Vote By Mail application and have someone, other than a candidate in this election, take the application to the County Clerk's office in Mt. Holly. This must be submitted by 3:00PM on the day before the election.
- You will receive a ballot by mail, if before the deadline, or a ballot will be given to the Messenger when they deliver the application.
- They must bring the paper ballot to you.
- You will then vote the ballot and seal it as instructed on the ballot.
- The Messenger must then drive the ballot back to the County Clerk's office until the office closes on Election Day.
Once you have submitted a “Vote By Mail” application, you will not be allowed to vote at the polls. The County Clerk cannot accept faxed applications or ballots. Original signatures are required.
If you need help or a Messenger to help with your ballot, please contact us at info@delran.net.
When are the polls open in this election?
The polling sites listed above are all open from 6:00AM to 8:00PM.
What party are the candidates in the Delran elections?
Delran municipal elections are non-partisan. Therefore, the party designations of the candidates are not displayed on campaign material or on the ballot.
How can I show my support for the Change for Delran's Future Team?
There are 5 easy ways to show your support for the Change for Delran's Future Team and the election process:
1) Vote! Your vote truly matters in Municipal elections (See Question 1)
2) Tell your friends and neighbors about Delran.net and how important their vote will be.
3) Volunteer! As working people like yourself, we need all the help we can get. Many neighbors have already volunteered to drive the elderly or handicapped to the polls, babysit for a neighbor while they go to vote, or perform one of the many tasks that need to be done on Election Day and the days leading up to Election Day.
4) Contribute. Providing help to our website and the democratic process costs money. Because we are not professional politicians, we need to raise money to pay for signs, flyers, postage and website costs. If you are able to contribute, even a small amount, we would be very grateful. Simply drop us an e-mail and we will walk you through the donation process.
You do not have to be a Delran Resident to contribute.
